Vango is a Scottish outdoor-equipment brand (founded 1966) known for reliable, innovation-led tents, awnings, sleeping gear and packs. They pioneered inflatable AirBeam® tents to make pitching fast and fuss-free, and they run visible circularity programs alongside a recycled “Earth Collection.”
Awnings for vans & caravans
Extend your living space with Vango awnings—drive-away and static options tailored to campervans, caravans and motorhomes.
From quick weekends to long tours, Vango awnings add versatile shelter, storage and comfort to your vehicle setup.
Eco-first ranges
Camp greener with the Earth Collection—fabrics made from recycled single-use plastics—backed by a robust repair and refurbish program.
Do more outdoors, waste less. Vango builds long-life kit, offers spares and repairs, and refurbishes gear to keep it in use and out of landfill.
Why Vango?
Fast-pitch AirBeam® tents. Wind-stable designs and eco-minded materials—trusted in the UK since 1966.
Made for UK weather. TBS® II stability and durable fabrics deliver confidence from breezy beaches to blustery hills.
Eco done right. Recycled fabrics where it counts, plus spares, repairs and refurbished gear to cut landfill.
Pick by use-case. For hiking and expeditions, look at lightweight trekking/technical models (compact pack size, sturdy designs). For family and weekend camping, Vango’s family ranges—including fast-pitch inflatable options—prioritise space, headroom and easy setup. If you camp in rougher weather, consider models with extra stability features and higher-spec fabrics.
Yes—just match the awning to your vehicle’s measurements. Check:
Attachment height (ground to rail/cassette/gutter) to choose the correct size band.
Straight rail length so the tunnel fits.
Attachment method (C-channel/awning rail, cassette, gutter pole & clamps, or over-vehicle straps).
Knowing your van type (e.g., VW Transporter vs tall coachbuilt) helps pick the right “low/mid/high” fit.
Most bags list Comfort, Limit (or “Lower Limit”), and Extreme. Use Comfort as your main guide—especially if you sleep cold. Limit is the lowest temp an average warm sleeper may manage; Extreme is a survival rating, not a target. Pair with a suitable sleeping mat (R-value), wear dry base layers, and choose a shape (mummy vs rectangular) to balance warmth and space.
HH measures fabric waterproofing in millimetres. For UK camping, a 3000 mm+ flysheet is a solid all-rounder; groundsheets are typically higher (e.g., 5000–10,000 mm) to resist pressure when kneeling/sitting. Taped seams and a well-designed frame matter as much as headline HH for real-world weather.
Dry it fully before storage, brush off dirt, and spot-clean with lukewarm water (no harsh detergents). Re-proof the fly when water stops beading, lubricate zips, and store cool, dry and dark to reduce UV and mildew damage. Pack poles/pegs separately and repair small snags early to prevent bigger issues.
Yes. AirBeam® tubes can be patched like other inflatable gear; valves and sleeves are replaceable, and service kits are available. Carry the pump and a basic repair kit; for bigger jobs (or if you’re unsure), Vango and dealers can supply spares or arrange repairs to keep your tent or awning in service.
